This was such a fun family mini session! I am a fan of dressing to compliment the colors of the location and surroundings. I love how their shades of greens and blues blend so nicely with this spot. I was so excited when Harper reached out to book her senior photos in San Antonio, TX! Her session is one of my favorites from last spring. We had just the most gorgeous light that evening and beautiful spring flowers. What are some tips that can help make your senior session successful?
- Plan ahead! Take the time to plan your outfits and try them on in advance.
- Professional hair and makeup can make you feel beautiful and boost your confidence.
- Get your nails done before the shoot.
- Bring props that represent you, such as sports equipment or musical instrument. A bouquet of flowers is a fun prop for girls!
- Bring a makeup bag and hairbrush/hairspray for touch ups during your session.
- Practice in the mirror ahead of time. It can help to practice posing in the mirror to know what poses you like and how you like your hair positioned, etc.
- Don’t stress – we will have fun! I am here to help you feel comfortable and guide you during the session!
The Cardet and Vega families are one big, beautiful, blended, extended family. The best part of my job is meeting families from far and wide. This was a rare opportunity when all family members were in San Antonio together and I was honored to be able to capture them all together. Extended family sessions are so special! It takes a little time and coordination to make them happen but it is so worth the effort!
We had so much rain this summer and the location for Dante’s senior session was so lush and green and we had the most beautiful light and sunset. My best advice for families with seniors is to book your senior photos in the fall! While the spring is great, the time is so limited when the environment looks lush and green. The fall season is much longer and all the locations look just as nice (sometimes better) than they do in spring. Many families have also booked a longer senior session to allow for fall family photos at the same time as their child’s senior session. Its a brilliant way the most of your time!
My favorite prompt for senior girls is a loose bouquet of flowers. It adds a pretty, feminine touch and something to do with your hands! Spring weather is often unpredictable and the day of Reagan’s session it was a cold and windy in San Antonio. You’d never know because she handled it like a champ!
